Porsche 9014 Kit car Recent history

Many years of work went into getting
the prototype to this stage. Though we have images that date
back farther, these images start from on February 2001.
The unfinished panels were roughly mounted to
a 914 chasis that had its fenders, rocker and quarter panels removed.
As you can see, the doors, hood and trunk lid were kept from the
donor car. |
|
| This picture represents the final look we were trying
to achieve. Here you can see that the car has been lowered slightly
and the nose has been cut. |

|
| Our car is much wider than the standard 914. In fact,
the tires pictured here are 15 50/245. Which as you can see fit nicely
under the fenders. Additionally, the front fenders will allow 15 50/235.
|
|
| Once we were pleased with the overall look,
the panels were removed and placed on a dolly car which is easier
to work on. |

| When producing a car, one of the hardest
things to do is to make sure both sides are symmetrical. This
is done by comparing many reference points and checking curve angles.
Although it may not look like it, copying the curve from one fender
to another took two days to complete. |
|
| The side scoop is formed from foam and
will later be covered in fiberglass |
|
| From this image you can see how we've used
fiberglass to get the rough shape. Now we'll use a special light weight
body filler to complete the process of making the curves. |
