Black with custom red striping and racing legends. Many original 356 parts, Carrera tach, functioning gauges.
Large gas tank w/ thru the hood filler, AM/FM/CD, two horns, one original dual tone, the other an SUV-piercing air horn.
Third Brake light, cowl vents and brake vents. Made and appointed to look like an old “C” production race car.
Powered by a custom-built Jake Raby 2615CC Type4 putting out in excess of 220-230 HP. DTM fan, Serpentine pulleys
Pre-oiler, auxillary oil cooler and fan, fire system.
So, that’s my version of today’s speedster. Sort of a tribute to my old E racer and a lot more solid and undeniably more reliable than any of my three other real steel street (read rust buckets) clunkers I used to own! Of course today, they’d be worth a small fortune, but…
By the way, this speedster won the best outlaw/race category year before last at the Porsche fest in Ventura. It was mistakenly entered as a real 356 by the guy at the entry gate! It also had the distinction of winning the outlaw/race category at the Emory Parts Obsolete Camp-out 2005 and that was a pretty tough crowd!
