I purchased the car in Fallon Nevada 4-5 years ago. The
woman who owned it said that it was her husbands car and
that he was a doctor and that they had lived in Reno.
That is all I know about it the history of the vehicle. She
said that when they were younger they used to take it skiing
so it appears to have a lengthy Nevada history.
It was not running very well and I had it worked on at Valley
Wagon in Carson. They cleaned out the gas tank and
carburetors and now it runs OK.
The reason I am selling it is that I just don't get to drive
it. Anyone that owns this car should get involved
in the Porsche Clubs and events. I just don't have
the time. The car is rare and when I do take
it for a drive I always get people honking and waving.
I do have a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche showing
that the car is a 1961 Porsche 356B 1600S Roadster with
VIN of 88466 built on 9-15-1960 with engine number of 87380
and transmission number of 39943. The engine number
is the same that is in the car and I have not checked the
transmission number.
The car is not of show or museum quality but I would
say in good condition and is priced accordingly.
