You are looking at a car that is 95% completed and needs fit and finish.

I purchased this car 5 years ago from the 2nd owner.

That owner replaced many of the body and metal parts, put on new floor pans, replaced the floor matt's and carpets. He then had the car painted a Pearlescent White, which looks blue casted in the day and yellow casted at night, depending upon the light. Unfortunately, he also blew up the engine and put a ding in the quarter panel that is only noticeable from below the car.

That is when I bought the car. Having owned one of these in the late 60's, I still know how they work, but did not know where to find parts and more importantly, a good machinist.

After much searching, I found Walt Watson at Competition Engineering in California. To make a long story short, Walt rebuilt the crankshaft, replaced the valves and guides and also ported the heads, as these heads are not the emission models. After getting those items back, I rebuilt the engine. New main bearings, rod bearings, pistons and cylinders, rebuilt Weber 44 IDF carburetors, new clutch; throw out bearing and bushings, resurfaced flywheel, and on and on......... The car also has a new Master Cylinder.

It also has the 5-speed transmission. The engine leaks some oil from the pushrod tubes.

Here is the deal. I bought this car in Minnesota and have since moved to South Carolina. I have more than enough other things to keep me occupied, so the Porsche must go.

The engine has less than 500 miles on it since the rebuild. The car has 65,800 miles on it. It starts and runs good, but has a vibration in the rear between 45 and 55 mph. Did I mention that I have had the axles rebuilt as well, and had another set rebuilt as a spare. The local shop says it might be toe in on the rear, while another says it could be the wheels and tires (just balanced). The tires are not the right size, so they should be replaced anyway.

What you are getting is a fun car that is almost completed and looks and runs great.

I also have a pair of high back seats that can be purchased separately.

You will need to order a set of seat brackets from a company such as Wedge Engineering in order to put these seats in.

I asked $10,000.00 and have lowered the price to $9,000. $500.00 for the high back seats.
