The extreme finally has paint on
it. As you can see Chris, our paint guy, has done a good job shooting
the car. You can see that I chose to cover the gas tank area rather
than pulling everything out.
The reproduction
fender flares look fantastic in white. With our Kinesis wheel
package I think this car is really going to be a looker. Notice the
cabin of the car and both trunks have been newly painted as well as
the engine compartment.
Here to the left you can see our GT
fiberglass hood. We're all very please as to the fit of the hood,
but remember few fiberglass pieces bolt right on and work the first
time. The second pic from the left shows the holes on the passenger
door for the new 993 mirrors.
The mirrors have been painted the same
color as the car as well as the headlight pieces. Soon the car will
be ready to reassemble.
There is certainly some overspray on
the car. Hmmm. More work... At least the dash is going to be replaced
and the gauges are just dusty. No overspray there. If I pull the
wiring out, that will mean hooking up the gauges again. At least
they are labled.
The battery
tray area turned out nicely. I am looking forward to putting the
car back together. I wish I'd had time to pull everything out of the
car. I see a lot of overspray. I have a feeling this is going to come
back and haunt me.
Ahhh. The area that is frightening
me. The paint shop did not tape up the wiring harness in the tunnel.
Oh my!! This will
be some work to either pull the wiring out now or strip it in place.
What a headache.
