Time to paint
the engine bay. Ted, our expert painter took on the task. Together
with an engine bay seal, this bay is looking great. We're going
to put the old 2.0 back into the spot so we can more easily get
this car to and fro.
The engine
is prepared to go back into the makeover. Nicely painted sheet metal
and the engine all cleaned up and new is great to look at. We place
the engine on a floor jack to lift it into place. With the new engine
shroud seals (91450415510 and 91450411710)
this compartment is really looking nice. This engine is nothing compared
with the screamer we are planning for our freshly dipped case. More
is being talked about concerning super-charging the new engine.
I recommend a chassis stiffening kit
for anyone doing body work, especially those doing any welding. My
master welding man, Matt, has installed the chassis kit beautifully.
Take a look at our installation instructions in our technical section
of the website: http://autoatlanta.com/tech/chassiskitinstall.html
This chassis
stiffening kit is easily installed. (See part number CS1006) Matt did this one for us in a few hours, which looks fantastic
and will add more than a little strength to the chassis. Each
hole in the metal is welded as the kit is installed adding lots
of strength to the chassis. This area will then be treated with
POR15
(see part number GR6013) for rust protection. Both sides of the car are done this way.
Having the flares installed, makes this kit even easier to install.
