Stock Porsche strut mounts are of a stamped steel construction with a large rubber grommet encasing a steel sleeve. The compliance afforded by the grommet is a welcome addition for Normal Street driving. However, the compliance provided by this component is unwanted in higher Performance applications. In doing its job under these conditions it has the undesirable side effect of changing suspension geometry. The more Gs applied the more change you get. This makes a precise chassis set up impossible. With the addition of the Camber Plate Retro Fit Kit this problem is remedied completely. The kit consists of an externally threaded 4130 housing encompassing a Teflon lined spherical bearing. The bearing is actually what takes the place of the rubber and metal grommet. Since there is no opportunity for deflection in the bearing the suspension geometry remains constant. The threaded portion of the bearing housing fits through the center section of stamped plate and it fastened with a bearing retainer nut. It is further retained by an aircraft quality circlip. There are also provisions on the retaining nut for safety wiring to one on the three Allen bolts that mount the entire assembly to the inner body. Factory Camber Plate Not Included In Kit
