Our k24 sport turbocharger is based off the optional k24 turbochargers, found in the GT2 or 993 turbo x50 models. They are remanufactured by borg warner certified technicians in Germany and are a cost-effective solution. The remanufacturing process includes full inspection of the turbocharger to ensure proper operation after the remanufacturing process. We then disassemble, clean and degrease the unit. The compressor wheels are exchanged, lightened and modified for more air flow. All clearances / shaft tolerances are checked for precision to ensure reliability. The end result is 20-30 additional horsepower, in the low and mid rpm range over the factory turbo. The sport turbo also has less lag than a factory k24 and spools up earlier for a far more spirited response. This part is a remanufactured part, as such an additional charge (a core deposit) will be added to the purchase price of the part. After receiving your new part, kindly send back your old part, or core . Once the core is returned to us and it has been inspected to ensure it is rebuild-able and resell-able, the core deposit will be refunded. We recommend purchasing one of our prepackaged turbocharger installation kits, part # FVDmk123993 please note: this service is only for the k24 turbochargers, a k16 is not considered a valid core. If you send us your original k24 to negate the core charge, please keep the following in mind. Each turbocharger is remanufactured in Germany, so the lead times can vary.
