The Intercooler cores used in this product are of the most advanced design currently produced anywhere in the world. These cores are manufactured by the aerospace company that is currently producing the majority of cooling for Formula 1 cars and lead the way in automotive heat exchangers._x000B__x000B_The plate and fin design that has been applied to these Porsche 997.1 Turbo Intercoolers has been designed to allow the minimum pressure drop while shifting the maximum amount of heat in to the received air flow._x000B__x000B_Standard extruded tube Intercoolers will give reasonable heat dissipation when the internal fin is packed on a vehicle of this power however this will always lead to a high pressure drop and as such not truly aid performance._x000B__x000B_The plate and fin design while being more expensive allows you to get both high heat dissipation and maintain standard pressure drop and gives the car true power increase. You should see gains of 30% minimum in reduction of intake temperature._x000B__x000B_These coolers are plug and play for the most part, a very small portion of plastic must be trimmed on the housing!_x000B__x000B_Example:_x000B_With an outside temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and an intake air temperature of 50 degrees Celsius, the intake air temperature decreases to 35 degrees Celsius compared to the standard intercooler._x000B_In hot climates, the decrease will be proportionally higher._x000B__x000B_Tech Tip:_x000B_A inter cooler is a heat exchanger which reduces the intake temperature. Intercoolers increase the efficiency of the induction system by reducing induction air temperature created by the turbocharger._x000B__x000B_By reducing the intake air temperature more volume is achieved (larger amount of air in the same space)._x000B_This removes the heat of compression that occurs when the air pressure is raised or its mass per unit volume is increased. _x000B__x000B_A decrease in intake air temperature sustains a denser intake charge into the engine. The lowering of the intake charge air temperature also eliminates the danger of pre-detonation (knocking). _x000B__x000B_This preserves the benefits of more fuel/air burn and increase the output of the engine. The most important effect is to lead more oxygen in the combustion chambers, more fuel can be burned and the power of the engine increases._x000B__x000B_Due to the lower intake temperature the thermal stress of the engine to the cylinder heads, valves, pistons and also the turbocharger are reduced. An efficient intercooler reduces combustion problems (knocking) and improves the exhaust gas emissions._x000B__x000B_
