Eventually you hear a metallic screeching noise that is a sure sign that your starters bendix mechanism, bearings or solenoid are kaput. When ordering a new starter be sure to check the rubber cap on the terminal for cracks which allows moisture in and it is a good idea to check your starters hardware as well. Make a selection 93060291901 Replacing your distributor cap at regular intervals is highly recommended. The cap is susceptible to carbon deposits and can also develop hair line cracks due to heat and vibration. Those cracks allow moisture and debris in which hampers ignition and can erode terminals. We recommend closely examining both caps prior to ordering and replacing both if necessary.
